Information Rifts® World Book 11: Coalition War Campaign™

The CR-005 Scorpion-Skull Walker is an experimental all-terrain, robot vehicle that was being tested by the Coalition during the Tolkeen conflict. Only one batallion (640 robots) were operating during the war. It is unknown how many were lost during the conflict, or how many have been constructed since, but undoubtedly these walkers have been added to the Coalition main battle forces.

Description[]

The Scorpion-Skull Walker, better known simply as Scorpion, is an attempt to create a low-profile vehicle that can evade detection in forest and urban environs, and to lay prome in wait on the enemy. The Scorpion can crawl with its "tail" completely streight at only five feet in height. The pilot and crew sit in a backward reclined position, with control panels in front and to the sides on movable flat panels, on HUD systems, or jacked directly into cybernetic connections.

Known Variants[]

There are no known variants. This vehicle is itself a variant of the CR-003 Spider-Skull Walker.

Notable Systems[]

Standard Coalition sensor package, with a sensor cluster in the nose section. There are four cameras along the "eyebrows" of the skull-like body, providing optic systems to the crew. The "eyes" of the skull double as searchlights.
